Parliamentary Hearing Committee meeting today

Kathmandu, July 21: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee under the federal parliament is holding a meeting at the Parliament Building in Singha Durbar today.

The meeting being held at 11:00 am is scheduled to inform its members about the complaints received on the nominations to the posts of Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners, and the action plans submitted by the recommended persons.

The Constitutional Council meeting held on July 3 had recommended the appointment of Man Bahadur Karki as the Chief Election Commissioner, while appointments of Dr Rajiv Subba and Guru Prasad Wagle as Election Commissioners.

Once the Parliamentary Committee approves the recommendations, the President appoints them to the designated posts.
