Mahar named UML chief whip

Kathmandu, April 24: Lawmaker Ain Bahadur Mahar has been named chief whip of the CPN UML in the House of Representatives (HoR), lower house of the federal parliament.

UML parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapamagar nominated Mahar as the chief whip of the party in accordance with UML federal parliamentary party statute, 2077. The nomination is effective from today itself.

Mahar was elected the HoR member from Bajhang district of Sudurpaschim Province through the March 5 election.
