Kathmandu Traffic Police report over 1,900 prosecutions in 24 hrs

Kathmandu, June 28: In the last 24 hours, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported the prosecution of 1,922 motorists for various traffic violations.

The traffic fine brought in a total revenue of Rs 5, 11,050. Among those penalized, 92 individuals were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, while 78 were cited for illegal ride-sharing practices.

Additional violations included 129 instances of disregarding traffic lights, 139 cases of speeding, and 41 for not adhering to lane discipline.

Furthermore, 67 motorists were penalized for honking in prohibited areas, 10 for operating vehicles with opaque black glasses and dark tinted films, and 70 for driving on one-way roads. The majority of the violations, totaling 1,296, fell under other traffic rule infractions.
