Kathmandu, June 30: The Traffic Police have taken action against 1,592 vehicles for violating traffic discipline in the last 24 hours.
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has collected Rs 2,024,561 in revenue while penalizing the traffic regulation violators.
Spokesperson at the Office, Naresh Raj Subedi informed that action was taken against 73 for driving under the influence of intoxicants, 87 for ride-sharing, 74 for not obeying red lights, 78 for excess speeding, and 47 for not following lane discipline in the past 24 hours.
Similarly, he said that 87 were penalized for using dark windows in vehicles, 56 for honking in ‘no horn’ zones, 32 for driving on one-way streets, and 1,058 for other offenses.
Recently, the traffic police team of Kathmandu Valley has been actively keeping vigil at vehicles that do not follow traffic rules.
