Woman killed in tusker attack in Jhapa

Surunga (Jhapa), June 14: A woman has succumbed to injuries after being attacked by an elephant in Mechinagar of Jhapa district.

Police Inspector from the District Police Office, Bijay Chauhan, informed that 62-year-old Padma Paudel, a resident of Mechinagar Municipality-4, was the victim of the incident.

The attack occurred while she was leaving her home this morning. She was trampled by the elephant, leading to her death on the spot. Paudel’s dead body have been taken to Mechi Provincial Hospital for postmortem.
